Then July hit and we went seven weeks without rain, temps mostly in the 90&#8217;s, quite a few days over 100F.\u00a0 The grass burned and died, trees were stressed beyond belief, gardens faltered.\u00a0 And then the fall.\u00a0 Dry, cool nights, warm days, and against all expectations, the colors just took off.\u00a0 With half the trees yet to turn, some species put on a show.\u00a0 Here&#8217;s what it looked like:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #99cc00;\"><em>(Note:\u00a0 <em>Click a thumbnail below to see an associated photo gallery, which will open in a different tab\/window.
