{"id":847,"date":"1983-02-07T04:04:00","date_gmt":"1983-02-07T04:04:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northernloon.net\/wordpress30\/?p=847"},"modified":"2025-04-21T17:41:56","modified_gmt":"2025-04-21T17:41:56","slug":"tucson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/northernloon.net\/travelogue\/?p=847","title":{"rendered":"Tucson Road Trip"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drove to Phoenix and then Tucson in the tan Toyota PU, with Lorraine.&nbsp; Visited Sophie at her house in Tucson, near campus.&nbsp; She was dating \u201cDoug\u201d back then.&nbsp; We went backpacking into Bandelier National Monument,&nbsp; a very <strong>protected<\/strong> area of Indian ruins.&nbsp; &#8220;Doug&#8221; (aka shithead of the moment) was frantic to burn wood, even though every last twig was protected in there.&nbsp; We weren&#8217;t even supposed to spit.&nbsp; He commenced to tear hell out of the place, find dry wood, bust it up.&nbsp; I told him ten times to stop, finally had to physically restrain him.
